The Official Guide for the Mississippi Sales Tax Holiday. This event runs until 12:00 midnight Saturday, July 31, 2010. Clothing and footwear items, meant to be worn next to the body and cost less than $100 per item, are exempt from sales tax during this period. This is worth 7 percent in savings on exempted items.This is THE time to buy for school children starting next week.
